Tao Nan School Choir has a total of 45 members from Primary 3 to 5. Each and every choir member displays a keen interest in singing and enjoys stage performances tremendously.
Besides our regular weekly practices, we also performed at a choral exchange with schools like Saint Joseph's Junior. In April last year, we participated in the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Choirs and attained a silver. In July, we had the opportunity to perform at the Singapore Flyer as part of the National Day celebrations and in November, we were privileged to perform at the opening ceremony of the World Fujian Convention held in Marina Bay Sands. We are also pleased that a few of our members won a singing competition organised by Ai Tong Alumni, coming in first in the solo section and second in the group section. To end an exciting year, we recorded live the graduation song for the P6s.
Objectives
We aim to develop our pupils' love for the aesthetics especially in the field of choral singing to the fullest so that they become confident choral singers on stage and will continue their love for choral singing.
Activities
Our twice weekly acitivites include learning a wide variety of of new songs of many languages and rhythm. We also learn the correct breathing techniques for singing and acquire confidence in stage performances.
