Interactive White Board (IWB) Training for Teachers
With the advent of digital technology, IWB has an instrumental role in supporting teaching and learning in as well as the administration and management of 21st century schools. The use of IWB marks a paradigm shift in enabling engaged learning where teachers essentially become a confident users of a wide range of resources as they explore a myriad of pedagogical skills and practices. To optimise the benefits and potential of an interactive whiteboard, teachers are equipped with and constantly upgraded in the relevant IWB skills.
This year, our teachers explored the use of more advanced features of the whiteboard software to create innovative and interesting lesson packages. On 8 and 22 July 2009, a Flipchart Modification Training was organised for our P2 and P4 teachers. During the 1.5 hour session, our teachers learnt the modification process in the design mode of the flipchart software to create more interactive flipcharts to suit our pupils? diverse learning needs.
Our teachers shared the process of creating their modified IWB resources with other teachers during Time-Tabled Time.
One of our teachers, Mdm Tiffany How, presented her IWB lesson-Elements of Art with Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) @ P4 Level during the National ICT Sharing Session 2009.

What we can't do alone, we can do together.
Vision
To instill confidence and to build competence.
The AV Committee, headed by Mr Michael Kao, is made up of the general committee and core committee. The core committee, comprising Ms Siti Nurfarah and Mdm Phua Mei Yan, manages all operations pertaining to AV matters. The general committee, made up of 15 other teachers, supports the AV needs of the school for various school events.
The AV crew is a team of pupil leaders supporting the AV committee and they help out with the daily AV duties as well as the special school events. The AV Crew goes through various training to learn about the different AV equipment in the school and have the opportunity to earn proficiency badges. As they progress in the competency level, leadership opportunities are also given to the senior members to lead and guid the younger members.
ICAS
International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) - Computer Skills
The competitions provide an opportunity for all students to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external assessment situation. They provide schools and teachers with comprehensive reporting of results and also give parents helpful information regarding their child's performance.
Every student entering ICAS receives a certificate acknowledging participation. Students are eligible for awards including High Distinction, Distinction and Credit Certificates as well as the prestigious University of NSW (UNSW) ICAS Medals. All students will also receive an individual Student Results Letter indicating which questions they answered correctly, as well as the average mark for Singapore. The Results Letter is also useful for highlighting students' strengths and weaknesses. The documents are suitable for inclusion in a portfolio.
We strongly encourage our pupils to take part in this competition as this serves as a learning opportunity for our pupils in a non-academic area as well as an assessment tool for those who would like to measure their knowledge in Computer Skills.
